For many years, the HealthVision International foundation has with prayer and financial gifts regularly supported the following organizations:
Kairos House of Prayer
Located in Spokane, Washington, the Kairos House of Prayer was an independent Franciscan retreat center with a charism for contemplative prayer open to people of all faith traditions. The founder and head, Sister Florence Leone, has been a close friend and spiritual director to Dr. Bakken for over 38 years. The house of prayer closed in June, 2020.
Christ House
Christ House is an inner city refuge and home for health and healing for homeless men with AIDS in Washington, DC. Friend Dr. Janelle Goetchus and her husband founded this incredible organization of Christian compassion and caring over 37 years ago.
Bayview Medical Clinic
Each year Bayview Medical Clinic, now under the auspices of the Keays Medical Group, has donated thousands of dollars of free care to patients who are unable to pay for medical treatment. Each Christmas season patients and staff have also contributed food, clothes, toys, and money for the needy and homeless in Tacoma,
Johns Hopkins University, Bloomberg School of Public Health
HealthVision in conjunction with Dr. and Mrs. Bakken regularly support the Baker-Reinke-Taylor Scholarship Fund to assist international students in the developing world to study public health in the Department of International Health at Johns Hopkins, Baltimore, MD.
Global Health Ministries
This organization based in Minneapolis, Minnesota provides development aid and health care volunteers in numerous countries worldwide. HealthVision has been a regular donor to help sustain this important global ministry.
